In Silver, an eight pointed star with arms composed of three rays with cleft endings, the obverse center superposed by a white enameled insignia in silver gilt, with a central red glass cabochon, the reverse with a vertical pinback flanked by dual stays and Japanese lettering standing for Order of Merit Decoration and four central rivets, measuring 89. 4 mm (w) x 89. 1 mm (h), weighs 93. 1 grams,
